For many years, this recipe for beef tips has been a favorite. It's basically browned beef tips that have been slowly cooked until tender.

Ingredients
Beef Stew:
🟡 1 tablespoon butter, or to taste
🟡 2 (10.5 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
🟡 2 ½ cups milk
🟡 salt and ground black pepper to taste
Mashed Potatoes:
🟡 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed, or more to taste
🟡 ¼ cup butter, or to taste
🟡 ¼ cup milk, or to taste
🟡 salt and ground black pepper to taste
Corn:
🟡 2 (15.25 ounce) cans whole kernel corn, drained

Directions
Step 1
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Cook the beef in hot butter, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes, or until browned on all sides. Combine condensed soup, milk, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for at least 1 hour, or until thickened to gravy consistency.
Step 2
Meanwhile, prepare the mashed potatoes: In a large pot, cover the potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 20 minutes. Drain. Beat in the butter, milk, salt, and pepper with an electric mixer until smooth. Transfer to a serving platter, cover with plastic wrap to keep warm, and set aside.
Step 3
Cook the corn in a saucepan over medium heat until it is tender, about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4
Serve beef stew over mashed potatoes with corn on the side.
